+7 (8182) 20-41-64
Arhangelskaja oblast, Primorskij rajon, derevnja Malye Karely
Nowadays it is one of the largest open-air museums in our country. On the territory of 140 hectares there are more than 100 monuments brought from different parts of the Arkhangelsk region. The first building was transported here in 1968 and 5 years later the museum was officially opened for the visitors. The criteria of selecting buildings for the museum are very high. Architectural-artistic values, ethnographic and historical typology are taken into consideration; and also, their state of preservation – if 50% of the old wood is lost, the building is not supposed to be moved to the museum.
