Museum-panorama "Battle of Borodino" is located in the west of Moscow, not far from Poklonnaya Gora, on the site of the former village of Fili near Moscow. Near the panorama "Borodino" there is a museum "Kutuzovskaya hut" with an exposition "Hut of the Military Council", and around there is a whole historical and memorial complex of monuments dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812.
Currently, the Panorama Museum has three expositions, which show more than 1000 works of battle and portrait painting, weapons and uniforms, objects of decorative and applied art and rare books. In general, the collection of the museum has more than 48,000 items.
The central exhibit of the museum - the panorama "Borodino" - was written by Professor of the Imperial Academy of Arts Franz Alekseevich Roubaud in 1912, to the 100th anniversary of the battle at Borodino between the Russian troops and the Great Army of Emperor Napoleon on September 7, 1812.
